Here’s a poem I wrote from a darker time in my past.
A mask that covers the broken soul, a shivering beauty looking out through cracks and fissures hidden in unsubtle coverings.
Attempts to conform or portray, show a measure.
To distract through pearlescent hues the emotions of a being hardly held together.
The voice crying for attention, duplicitous in its dealings, becomes the audible mask.
Coy and soft to world outside, screaming pain and insecurity the being hidden cries.
A mask covers the broken soul, shivering beauty hidden in webs of painted truths.
Voice pleading, begging love and attention, escapes those lips as lies misleading.
Distracted through pearlescent hues none can see the tears and fears
Dark and trembling she hides behind that mask of lies, and yet the truth escapes those angel eyes.
